Travel to China is a adventure. Travel to China to adopt a toddler is a challenge. Traveling to China for 2 weeks with friends is a major blessing! We have been blessed to meet another family with Homeland, who will travel with us to adopt their little girl. How awesome is that!
Heather and I connected online through our adoption agencies message board and have been corresponding for months about our adoptions. Last night we were able to meet for dinner and get to know them more. I felt like we were meeting old friends. Heather and her husband Marty have a 6 year old son who will be going with them too and will be a great traveling companion for Eden. Their son Tristan is a cutey pie who Eden got along with well. How nice to have two along who can entertain each other! We also met Heather's wonderful parents. Heather's mother will also be traveling with them on their journey.
You know when your on an adoption journey for 2 weeks you can't always pick out your traveling companions. You are thrown together on bus rides, plane rides, and countless dinners, meetings and sometimes stressful situations. Sometimes we have fussy babies who can have melt downs. Not to mention being in a land where it is hard to understand the language and there aren't people to just call up and chat with. That being said it will be wonderful to have good friends to pray for, share laughter and tears, and adventures with our new children. God is good and knows what we need even before we ask for it ;-).

It was such a blessing to meet you and your family, Elaine! We had so much fun and are very thankful that we'll be traveling buddies. Tristan & Eden will surely keep us all busy......and entertained, too:) You have a beautiful family!
Ren is a beautiful boy. You must be so excited to be this close . We toured the orphanage and the toddler room and I am wondering if he was in the room where the children were trying to take naps. It was difficult for the nannies to get them all to lay down ....actually quite funny...to see them all so animated and excited. All so adorable I wanted to scoop them up. You are almost there!
